Frequently asked questions
Yes. An optional foot control is available and gives the surgeon greater freedom to fine-tune the table position during procedures. It can also be used to activate and recall programmed positions.
Yes. RiEye Mk2S is specifically designed to provide exceptional head stability, ergonomic surgeon access, and compatibility with microscope pedals and microsurgical equipment. These features make it particularly well suited for ophthalmic microsurgery and other precision surgical procedures.
The table features smooth surfaces and removable cushions to facilitate cleaning and disinfection. Before removing the cushions, return the table to a horizontal position. Please refer to the user manual for approved cleaning and disinfection agents.
Yes. RiEye Mk2S can support the entire patient pathway, from transport and preoperative preparation through surgery and postoperative recovery. By reducing the number of patient transfers, the table helps improve patient safety, enhance staff ergonomics, and create a more efficient workflow throughout the surgical process.
RiEye Mk2S combines the advantages of both an operating chair and an operating table. Thanks to its low seat height, many patients can sit down independently, similar to an operating chair. At the same time, it provides the positioning capabilities, stability, and functionality of a modern operating table, including supine, seated, Trendelenburg, and surgical positioning.
The patented Hands Free Headrest is unique thanks to its flexibility and adaptive design. It automatically adjusts its length to accommodate the patient without requiring manual repositioning.
The standard headrest, equipped with the grey dubbellink, can be easily adjusted in height and angle. Our OneGrip Headrest can be adjusted in height, lateral position, and angle, and is also available with optional 3D adjustment capabilities.
These features provide optimal support and stability for the patient’s head, which is critical during microsurgical procedures, while maximizing surgical access and allowing the surgeon to maintain an ergonomic working position.
The key ergonomic benefits of the RiEye Mk2S are that clinical staff often do not need to lift or manually reposition patients. Thanks to the low seat height, many patients can sit down on the table independently, while wheelchair users can transfer to the table with minimal assistance.
The patented adaptive headrest automatically follows the patient's position, reducing the need for manual adjustments and positioning aids such as knee supports. In addition, individual table positions can be saved and recalled, allowing surgeons to work in a consistent ergonomic position for every procedure. This helps reduce physical strain on staff and improves workflow efficiency.
Ophthalmic surgeons choose RiEye Mk2S because it combines efficient patient positioning, exceptional ergonomic access around the patient’s head, and excellent head stability for microsurgery. The patented adaptive headrest minimizes manual patient handling, while programmable positions help ensure a consistent and ergonomic setup for every procedure. The result is improved workflow efficiency, enhanced surgeon comfort, and a better experience for both patients and clinical staff.
Allow the headrest to move freely along its longitudinal axis. Position the headrest cushion as the patient sits down, while keeping the headrest free to slide. Once the patient is seated, use the hand control or optional foot control to move the table into the desired surgical position.
