Frequently asked questions
Yes. Carl chairs are designed to provide optimal ergonomics during long surgical procedures. Adjustable armrests, multiple seat options, and ergonomic accessories allow the chair to be tailored to both the surgeon’s working posture and the duration of the procedure.
Armrests support the shoulders, arms, and neck, helping to create a more ergonomic working posture. This can reduce physical strain and help surgeons maintain stability and precision during microsurgical procedures.
An ergonomic surgical chair such as Rini Carl improves stability, comfort, and control during surgery. By reducing unnecessary strain and supporting the body and arms, surgeons can work in a more relaxed posture while maintaining high precision, even during lengthy procedures.
Yes. All Rini Carl surgical chairs are Class I medical devices under MDR (EU) 2017/745 and are FDA registered. They comply with relevant international standards for safety and quality, including ISO 13485.

RiEye Mk2S is primarily intended for adult patients but may also be used for older pediatric and adolescent patients, depending on patient size and clinical requirements.
The expected service life depends on usage frequency, maintenance practices, and the hospital’s internal procedures. Many hospitals plan for an economic service life (depreciation period) of 5–10 years for medical devices. With proper servicing and preventive maintenance, however, the RiEye Mk2S can remain in use for significantly longer. Several of our operating tables have remained in continuous clinical service for more than three decades.
Yes. The cushions can be removed quickly for cleaning or replacement.
To ensure optimal performance, the table should be synchronized according to the instructions provided on the backrest after approximately 1,000 procedures. When synchronization is required, the hand control automatically displays a flashing reminder. In addition, we recommend an annual preventive maintenance inspection carried out by an authorized Rini service technician to ensure continued safety, reliability, and performance.
RiEye operating tables have been sold internationally for more than 25 years and are currently used in hospitals and clinics across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania.
